the process

You’re here, and that means you’re ready to start your journey – but how long does the fostering process take in Rhondda Cynon Taf exactly? And once you contact us, what can you expect?

the home visit

After your initial enquiry we start the process of getting to know you and everything that matters to you. We’ll come and visit you at home if we can. Otherwise, we’ll start with an informal video chat.

Building up a relationship with you and your family is important, and this is where it starts. We work to understand what and who is important in your life, where you call home, and how you see yourself as a foster carer.

the foster care agreement

After the panel meets and recommendations have been made comes the foster care agreement. This important step lays out exactly what it means to be a foster carer – from the small daily responsibilities to all the wider support and guidance you’ll
provide.

It’s just about what you can offer, but about what we bring too. The agreement sets out all the expertise and services we’ll provide for you as your support network.
