how it works

how it works

Foster care isn’t something you do alone. At the heart of what we do are our amazing foster families, but there’s so much more to it. We’re more connected than you think.

Fostering in Rhondda Cynon Taf means working with an expertly trained and dedicated network. It means having professional support, shared knowledge and round-the-clock support. Whenever and however you need it.

better together

The reason we can offer such an impressive package of support and rewards is because we are part of Foster Wales: a national organisation which includes every Local Authority in Wales. We all work together, and we are all not-for-profit
organisations.

Everything we have, and all the funding we receive, goes right back into the service we provide. It’s what makes us unique, and what enables us to do the best we can for local children.

what makes us different

We’re different from your standard fostering agency. Foster Wales Rhondda Cynon Taf is part of a nationwide collective – but we’re local too. Our dedicated team is made up of people who are part of the community here in Rhondda Cynon Taf. We’re here, and we care.

We always prioritise maintaining the important connections and bonds children have to the areas they know and love – when it’s right to do so. This makes us unique. We look at the whole picture: what matters to them, and what will help maintain their sense of belonging and ‘self’. It’s about understanding, caring and doing what’s best for each individual child. It’s about putting people before profit.
